The Tema Branch of Zenith Bank at the weekend
presented assorted items worth 5,000 Ghana cedis for the upkeep of children of the Dominic Savio Centre.
The items, which included five bags of rice, two crates of minerals, 20 loaves of bread, beverages, detergents, fruit drinks and a quantity of used clothes, were contributed by staff and some customers of the bank.
Mr Kofi Abrokwa Kokroko, Head of the branch who made the presentation, said it was their modest contribution towards the upkeep of the children.
Rev Brother Michael Schmitz, Director of the Centre received the items and thanked the donors.
Mr Francis Teye Tetteh, Co-ordinator of the Centre, said the centre it admits only orphans and vulnerable children with neglected background.
He said there are 31 children at the centre and that plans were underway to put up a multi-purpose hall, not only to increase the children-intake, but to also give adult education to illiterate parents
within the community.
