The Management of the Health Box, a private Clinic at Madina, a suburb of Accra has offered free medical treatment to more than 300 patients in the last one month.
Reverend Dr. Richard Narh, Proprietor of the Clinic explained that the free treatment was in fulfilment of the social responsibility of the medical facility towards the communities that falls in its catchment area and called on the people to seek prompt treatment anytime they are sick.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, he said the team attended to patients with diabetes, stroke, joint pains, facial and skin diseases.
Rev. Dr Narh said his outfit spent more than GHC 5,000.00 on food supplements and other essential drugs for the exercise.
He said apart from the treatment, the clinic also offered free massaging and detoxification to the clients.
Rev. Dr. Narh said a lot of people suffer from diabetes and stroke because they did not go for health check-ups.
"Most of us do not see the need to check on our health status until we break down. Ideally we need to go in for check-ups at least once a month to ensure our safety in the realm of health," he said.
He called on health professionals throughout the country to spend sometime educating the public against the intake of fatty foods and excessive intake of alcohol since such practices could aggravate their health challenges.
Rev. Dr. Narh also appealed to health professionals to avoid the claim of treating almost every sickness.
