Mr Joseph Tetteh, Marketing Manager of Superlock Technologies Limited, dealers in security materials, on Tuesday expressed concern about the abuse of the proverbial Ghanaian hospitality and cautioned the citizenry to extend such courtesies with care.
He also called on Ghanaians to be extra vigilant and security cautious during the coming Christmas holidays.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday he advised parents to keep doors and windows well secured during the season and to train members of their households to be security alert.
"Parents especially should check the identity of whoever is at the door before they open and children must not be allowed to open doors and accept gifts from strangers," he said.
Mr Tetteh said parents must check the background of their house helps, drivers, babysitters and cooks before employing them and coach them to be observant and provide information on their interactions with strangers.
He asked family heads and managements of institutions to use quality security equipment for their safety and protection in their homes and offices.
Mr Tetteh said his company had specialised in developing, manufacturing and marketing security doors at the specification of customers taste.

Mr Tetteh called on entrepreneurs to buy quality products to keep their homes and businesses safe.
