Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Yemen will spare no effort to help Somali refugees in Yemen despite modest economic capabilities of the country, Yemeni News Agency SABA reported on Sunday.
During a meeting in the Yemeni capital with UN Special Envoy for Somalia Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, Saleh reiterated his country's support for Somali President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and his interim government.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni president called on the UN and international society to do utmost efforts to achieve peace and stability in Somalia, underlining the dire need for combating terrorism and piracy.
For his part, Ould-Abdallah hailed Yemeni efforts aimed at closing Somali ranks, rebuilding the destroyed institutions and achieving national stability.
