An Asamankese Circuit Court will give its ruling on June 24 in a case in which Daniel Nkansah 18, and a farmer has been charged with three counts of causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry and stealing goods valued at GH¢7,683 from a shop at Suhum.
Nkansah pleaded not guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Ben Brew told the court that the complainant, Fawalatu Afusi had a shop at Boifitter, a suburb of Suhum and sells men and women's wear, shoes, bags and jewellery.
He said on April 26, this year at dawn, Nkansah and his accomplices, now at large broke into the shop and made away with the items.
The prosecution said a witness sleeping in a kiosk nearby shouted "thief, thief" and others rushed into their vehicle leaving accomplices of Nkansah behind.
He said Nkansah ran into the bush but was pursued, arrested and handed over to the police.
The prosecution said during a search, the police found in Nkansah's pocket hand bangles and necklaces and after investigations charged with the offence.
