Mr Ebenezer Akuoko Frimpong, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central in the Ashanti Region, has called for the support of all stakeholders to help achieve the set goals for the district.
The DCE said in spite of his leadership qualities, he could not achieve anything in his administration without the support of all stakeholders in the district.
Mr Akuoko made the call during an interaction with the media at Nsuta on Thursday to outline his vision for the district.
He appealed to the people to consider the district as their own and co-operate with him for its accelerated development.
The DCE said without adequate funds to execute the various projects envisaged, their expectations would not be realised and urged the people to pay their taxes to supplement grants from the central government.
He expressed worry about the non-functioning of Area Councils and Unit Committees which were all important organs in the local government system and pledged to re-organise them to make them effective.
Mr Akuoko mentioned perennial water shortage, lack of office and residential accommodation for staff of decentralised departments as the major challenges to be dealt with in the district.
He said the problems in the district were many but with patience, commitment and sincerity, the expectations of the people would be met.
