The Rural Enterprises Project (REP) has organized a two-week in-service training workshop for the Mankessim branch of the Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers to update their skills.
The participants were taught modern cosmetology processes, including pedicure, manicure and facials.
Addressing the closing session, Mr Neile Arkaah, Mfantseman Municipal Focal Person for REP said the computer-age world enjoined people to diversify their businesses and also update skills regularly.
He appealed to the participants to impart the skills they had acquired to others so that they could also contribute to poverty alleviation in the municipality.
Mr Arkaah reassured tradesmen and women in the area of the ready support of the Business Advisory Centre, a component of the REP to help them to improve upon their businesses.
Miss Vida Tsekpetse, a facilitator, advised the participants to ensure neatness at their work places at all times.
She advised them to keep daily records on their activities to enable them to assess the progress of their work.
