The Kasoa District Police Command has expressed concern about the rate at which men are assaulting their wives and girlfriends with 221 cases reported in four months.
The District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jordan Quaye, who told the GNA at Kasoa said the cases were recorded between January and April.
After investigations, the Commander said, the offenders would be prosecuted.
"The Kasoa District Police Command warns that no man should take the law into his hands by beating his spouse or girl friend because the Police would deal drastically with men who beat women."
DSP Quaye appealed to assembly members, chiefs and opinion leaders in the district to bring an end to the practice.
