Right-Reverend Nuh Ben Abubekr, immediate past Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, has called on the laity to support the clergy to carry through the vision and mission of Methodism.
He said the church had plans to intensify its evangelization programme to win more converts and also increase its membership.
Rt Rev Abubekr was speaking at the post-ordination thanksgiving service in honour of Reverend Kingsley Nana Yaw Sarfo Kwarteng at the Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi in Kumasi on Sunday.
He said the minister had been ordained at a time the church had embarked on religious and social development programmes and expressed the hope he would stand firm and resolute to ensure the success of the church's activities.
Rt Rev Abubekr commended Rev Kwateng for his commitment and steadfastness, hoping he would continue the good works of his predecessors.
Preaching the sermon, Rev Kwateng commended Rt Rev Abubekr and the Superintendent Minister of Kumasi Circuit, Very Rev Samuel Fred Ansuh for their encouragement, saying he had been humbled by the opportunity to serve the Adum Wesley Cathedral which is the mother of all the circuits in the Kumasi Diocese.
