An Nkawie Circuit court has sentenced Kojo Nsiah, a farmer at Sepaase in Atwima Nwabiagya District to five years imprisonment in hard labour on his own plea for conspiracy, unlawful entry and stealing personal belongings worth about 770 Ghana cedis.
His accomplice, Osei Yaw, who resides at Atwima-Agogo is on the run.
Police Sergeant, Birikorang Peasah told the court presided over by Mr Jerome Noble Nkrumah that on November 2, this year at about 1300 hours the complainant, Hannah Agyare, returned from church and detected that thieves had broke into his room and made away with personal belongings and electrical gadgets valued at about 770 Ghana Cedis.
He said some witnesses who saw the thieves running away with a trunk box chased them and Nsiah was arrested while while Osei Yaw managed to escape.
The prosecution said Nsiah was handed over to Abuakwa police and after investigations charged with the offence.
