Mr Joseph Kwabena Onyinah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education has advised Planning and Statistical Officers of GES to promptly draw attention of their managers to salient indicators that needed immediate correction to help forestall anomalies in statistical data submitted to their offices.
He noted that most statistical data submitted by some district education directorates were at variance with the reality on the ground.
Mr Onyinah gave the advice when addressing a three-day workshop organised for District Directors of Education and District Planning Officers of GES in Ashanti Region in Kumasi.
It was to update the skills and knowledge of the participants to enable them plan strategically and collate accurate and reliable data and information.
Mr Onyinah called on them to be circumspect on the collection and submission of data and advised them to set an achievable target.
Mrs Janet Appiah, Atwima Nwabiagya District Director of Education, advised them to collaborate effectively to promote accurate efficient and reliable data collection and dissemination of information.
