A 25-year-old woman is in the grips of the Adenta District Police Command for allegedly killing her husband with a machete at Amrahia on the Dodowa road.
Speaking to the GNA, the District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Yaw Tettegah said, the woman Lawoe Sedoardgie, and her one-and-half year old daughter were asleep with the deceased, Agbetaworkpor Papa 26.
During the night the deceased who was drunk rolled and slept on the baby. The woman later realized that the husband, in his sleep laid on the baby and pushed him to the other side of the bed.
The drunken husband became offended and as a result a quarrel ensued between them. During the quarrel the deceased picked up a machete and threw it at the nursing mother.
The woman, in retaliation, took the machete and threw it back at the man and it landed on his head, resulting in a deep cut. The deceased bled profusely and was rushed to the University of Ghana Hospital for treatment.
Agbetaworkpor Papa died the following day on August 31, 2008 and a report was made at the Legon Police Station where the woman was arrested and sent to the Adenta Police Station for further interrogation.
