The Dormaa Traditional Council is to mobilize funds from religious organisations operating under its jurisdiction to support its education endowment fund.
A statement issued from the office of the council's president, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, said a delegation from the council would visit religious organisations at Chiraa, Abesim, Bomaa and Dormaa-Ahenkro to sensitize them on the need to contribute to the fund.
The statement noted that religious groups had the capacity to contribute to and positively change the level of formal education in the country.
It urged the religious bodies to blend evangelism with social and educational programmes in preparing the youth adequately for future leadership.
The statement said the Dormaaman Education Endowment Fund had the desire to cover more beneficiaries than it currently had and was determined to achieve this goal by tapping all available human and material resources.
It said the council had targeted religious organisations and identifiable groups because it aimed to influence the conscience of the people in the area as a prelude to mobilizing resources for efficient operation.
