Management of Nkoranza health insurance scheme has registered 788 pregnant women under the government's free ante-natal care programme.
Mr. Stephen Opoku Brobbey, Manager, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the figure continued to increase as nursing mothers had realized the need to access ante-natal health care delivery.
He said the scheme had not encountered any problems in the free registration of pregnant women and nurses in-charge of the health facilities were keeping proper records.
Mr. Brobbey commended the people for patronizing the scheme and that more than 46,000 people had registered as at the close of June as against 32,000 in the previous year.
He said the scheme hoped to achieve estimated target and coverage of about 75,000 people by the close of the year and called on assembly members, traditional authorities and religious leaders to join the education campaign to encourage more people to register.
