The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled nationwide maintenance exercise on Friday, October 10, 2025, which will affect parts of the Greater Accra, Central and Western regions.
The utility company says the exercise forms part of efforts to enhance service reliability and improve power supply across its operational areas.
In the Greater Accra Region, the planned maintenance will take place between 9 am and 5 pm. Areas to be affected include Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku and surrounding communities.
In the Central Region, two separate maintenance operations are scheduled. The first will affect communities such as Krispo City, Budumburam, Prisons, Apra, Loye, Kaemebre, Colomba Road, Akweley, Adom Estate, Ofaakor, Jei-River, Papaase, Jei-Krodua, Bawjiase and nearby areas between 9 am and 4 pm.
A second exercise in the same region will affect parts of Ankamu Junction, Gomoa Ajumako, Gomoa Akwakrom, Gomoa Nkransah, Gomoa Obokrom, Gomoa Kumasi, Gomoa Enyame, Gomoa Dankyie, Koforidua, Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa Nduam, Gomoa Wassa, Gomoa Nkran, Gomoa Esikuman, Gomoa Debiso, Gomoa Darman, Gomoa Abonko, Gomoa Lome, Gomoa Ogun and other surrounding areas during the same time period.
In the Western Region, the exercise will also take place from 9am to 4pm, affecting residents of Diaso, Jameso Nkwanta, New Obuasi, Modaso, Ankwaso, Juabo, Subin, Akwaboso, Asamang, Essienkyem, Merewa, Asawinso Ketewa, Awaso, Bekwai, Humijibre, Adjakaa Manso, Kofi Gyan, Dansokrom, Appiakrom, Nyamebekyere, Ewiase, Bosomioso, Aboduam and nearby communities.
In a statement, the ECG said the exercise was necessary to ensure stable and efficient power distribution and expressed regret for any inconvenience that may arise. “ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company noted in all four regional notices.
The company has, in recent months, intensified its maintenance programme to address faults and improve the reliability of its electricity supply network nationwide.
