The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed a total of GH¢243,225,701.55 in claims to credentialed healthcare providers across the country. The payment, made on August 6, 2025, covers claims up to June 2025.
In a statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Directorate, the NHIA said public health facilities received GH¢120,048,031.54, representing 49 per cent of the total amount.
Private sector facilities were paid GH¢78,747,523.25 (32 per cent), while mission-based facilities received GH¢44,430,126.76 (18 per cent).
The Authority attributed the accelerated pace of claims settlement to the improved cash flow from the uncapped National Health Insurance Levy (NHIL), which it said had strengthened mutual trust between NHIA management and administrators of credentialed facilities nationwide.
It reiterated its commitment to prompt claims payments as part of efforts to curb illegal charges by some service providers for services covered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The NHIA further urged healthcare providers to submit accurate and timely claims to ensure smooth reimbursement processes.
