Likewise, he plans to introduce strategic innovations to attract both local and international partners to make public libraries more modern, inclusive, and useful to the public.
The new acting CEO consequently assured that he would work closely with the GhLA Governing Board and the Ministry of Education to review the current law that guides the work of the Authority.
Mr Ziblim made these known in Accra when he formally introduced himself to the staff of the authority on Monday, following his appointment as the new Acting Executive Director of the GhLA with effect from June 16, this year.
According to him, the law, over 50 years old, must be updated to reflect the changing role of libraries in national development.
Mr Ziblim said he would work to improve on staff welfare and professional development, “I want to put in place a strong welfare and development scheme that will support capacity building and provide growth opportunities for GhLA staff ”.
He believed that the hardworking staff of GhLA deserve the support needed to do their work well and grow in their careers. He is confident that a motivated team will be able to drive the changes needed to transform the library system.
Mr Zimblim said he was committed to the transformation of public and school libraries across the country, adding this would help improve access to library services, especially for children and students.
Mr Ziblim brings more than 20 years of experience in public sector administration, strategic management, banking, marketing, and finance to the role.
Before this appointment, he was the Director of Administration at the Ghana Free Zones Authority, where he helped set up and manage a strong administrative department for over 12 years.
He also served as Secretary to the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee of the Ghana Free Zones Authority Governing Board from October 2017 to January 2025.
Mr Ziblim holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (Finance option) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics, both from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants Ghana.
