Savannah Regional Minister, Salisu Be-Awuribe, has pledged to collaborate with traditional authorities and key stakeholders to resolve chieftaincy disputes in the region.
Speaking during a working visit to the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, at the Jakpa Palace, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peace and stability.
The visit, which included heads of institutions within the region, was to officially inform the Overlord of his assumption of office.
“There are major issues within the region, land boundaries and other security-related matters which are a threat to future disturbances which need urgent attention,” he reiterated.
Salisu Be-Awuribe added that President, John Dramani Mahama has appointed Chief Mankpanwura Jakpa Achor-Ade Boreyi l as a member of the council of State from the chief of Mankpan traditional council in Savannah Region.
