The Cartel Foundation, as part of its corporate social responsibility, last weekend organised a health walk to promote the health of residents of Mamprobi and its environs.
Cartel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Cartel Group of Companies, a Civil Engineering Company, organised the event on the theme: “Walk for Health, Walk for Peace.”
The three-hour event which started from the Mamprobi Post Office and ended at the Zion Cluster of Schools, involved activities such as exercise, aerobics and eating of fruits characterised the exercise of the walk.
The Chief Executive Officer of Cartel Group of Companies, Mr Henry Harry Owoo, noted that the health walk was also to promote good health among the residents of Mamprobi and its environs.
He said the exercise formed part of the programmes of activities of Cartel Foundation to raise awareness on healthy living and good health practices and promote peace towards this year’s general election.
Mr Owoo said Cartel Foundation was established about three years ago to support activities and programmes, to promote the healthcare of the poor and marginalised in society across the country.
He then urged the residents of Mamprobi and its environs to take their health seriously, and exercise regularly, eat a lot of fruits and cautioned against self-medication.
Mr Owoo again urged the residents to visit the hospital for attention when they were sick, and entreated corporate executives, companies and the well-to-do in society to support the healthcare of the poor and marginalised in the society.
In an interview with some of the residents who took part in the walk, they commended Cartel Foundation for the Walk.
Moreover, they indicated that for the past three years, the Foundation organised peace walk to promote the health of the residents of Mamprobi and its environs.
