The President’s nomination of the new candidates are to fill the vacancies of the 24 DCEs, MCEs who had been relieved of their du­ties by the President last Friday.

The new nominees are Prince Dormaa Amoah, Ahafo Ano North; Oscar Asare Andoh, Aman­sie West; Dr Amoateng Augustine Kwasi, Nkoranza South; Moham­med Haruna, Pru East; Samson Gbolu, Sene East; Moses Arhinful Acquah, Awutu Senya West; Nana Kweku Abban, Twifo Heman Low­er Denkyira, and Mavis Opokua Akonnor, Asuogyaman.

The others are Paddy Amponsah Douglas, Atiwa West; Professor Edward Asante Antwi, New Juaben North; Owusu Arthur Emmanu­el, Nsawam-Adoagyiri; Ebenezer Doku, Adentan, Ambrose Tsegah, Ga Central, Deborah Ampofo, Ga East; Michael Danquah, Weija Gbawe; Issah Chimsi Abdulai, East Mamprusi; Bulator Kwaku Patrick, Krachi West and Felix Owusu Gy­imah, Nkwanta South.

The rest are Jacob K. Du­makawe, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba; Agana Albert Akugre, Bolga East; Anania Daniel Atampuba, Bawku West; Mahamud Forkah, Sissala West; Zuh Walter Wogbemase, Adaklu; Innocent Lynford Kwesi Tetteh, South Tongu; Alex Baidoo, Amenfi Central and Eric Essien, Nzema East.

President Akufo-Addo in a letter addressed to the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr Dan Botwe and copied the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the Chief of Staff, Mrs Akosua Frema Osei Opare, the Chief of Staff said his decision to revoke the appointment of the 24 DCEs and MCEs was in line with Article 243 (3) (b) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2016, (Act 936).

The letter signed by the President himself said “I write to inform you that I have revoked the appoint­ments of the following persons as District Chief Executives.”

The dismissed appointees are Martina Appiah Nyantakyi , Ahafo Ano North; Nii Larteh Ollenu, Amansie West; Daniel Owuredu, Nkoranza South; Alhaji Abdulai Adams, Pru East; Gmasombe Je­rome Kofi Gyimah, Sene East and Joseph Aidoo, Awutu Senya West.

The others are Samuel Kwame Agyekum, Asuogyaman; Seth As­ante, Atiwa West; Comfort Asante, New Juaben North; Isaac Kwadzo Buabeng, Nsawam-Adoagyiri; Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumua, Adentan; Mohammed Bashiru Ka­mara, Ga Central; Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, Ga East and Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, Weija Gbawe.
