A Ghanaian religious Sister, belonging to the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Divine Redeemer (HDR), Sr. Jacinta Kwakyewaa, HDR , has been been adjudged overall best teacher at the 2023 edition of the Global Education Supplies and Solution ( GESS) awards held in Dubai in October, 2023.
The award is organized to celebrate Teachers, Schools and Educational Professionals as well as suppliers who have excelled in their line of duty.
Sister Kwakyewaa, HDR was shortlisted for a category dubbed “Community Award for Citizenship” but ended up receiving the overall best prize.
The awards received 900 nominations from 60 countries and those shortlisted were placed into 9 categories.
Sister Kwakyewaa, HDR has also received prizes such as the 1st Runner-Up, Ghana Teacher Prize, 2021, 2nd National Best Teacher ( Vocational category)- 2015 and the 2nd Regional Best Teacher ( Basic Education)- 2013
Sister Jacinta Kwakyewaa, HDR is a native of Akyem Aperade in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She is currently a teacher at St. Francis Senior High Technical School, Akim Oda.
