The Global Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of HuD Group, Dr Yaw Perbi, has urged young people to set and show good examples to others in all circumstances.
Dr Perbi, who was speaking at the 66th Speech and Prize Giving Day of the Ridge Church School in Accra, said in a time where sometimes adults were the ones who encouraged wrong, young people should strive to be good examples that lead others in truth and honour.
"A good leader sets a good example; a bad leader does the opposite.
Sometimes, people don't like us for not following their bad example or for calling out bad example, but in a good society, good examples are a reward," he said.
Dr Perbi further encouraged young people to not settle for less in their pursuit of happiness and success but to be guided by who they were in Christ.
"We are all born to be kings and queens, princes and princesses in the Kingdom of God.
So you must be a good example in all circumstances; even if everyone is doing the wrong thing and adults are pushing you to do wrong," he added.
The 66th Speech and Prize Giving Day of the Ridge Church School was on the theme "Be a good example in all circumstances".
The day was used to honour deserving teachers, past students and current learners of the school for distinguishing themselves in relevant fields of social and academic endeavours.
The day was also used to highlight some successes and achievements chalked by the school over the academic year.
A Justice of the High Court, Justice Rita Abrokwah Doku, also encouraged the learners to lead by example and not be discouraged by the fact that they were young.
The Headmistress of the School, Nana Ama Acheampomaa Badasu, expressed appreciation to the entire staff, board and governors of the school, the school’s management and the parents and guardians for their support throughout the academic year.
“We are grateful to individuals, groups and organisations for their continuous assistance to the school over the years,” she said.
She further encouraged the students and pupils to learn and put in their best effort for the academic year ahead.
