On 3 March 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar and the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Abidjan, co-organized the Thai Food, Products, and Culture Fair, at Prima Center, Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. More than 100 people, including Ivorian nationals, foreigners, and Thai nationals in Abidjan participated in the event.
The Federation Ivoirienne de Muaythai et Disciplines Assimilees (FIMDA) also performed a Thai boxing demonstration and Wai Kru ritual performance
Participants were served with Thai savory dishes made from Thai ingredients, including Stir-fried Thai noodles (Pad Thai), Stir-fried meat with Thai Basil, Green Curry, Beef Panang Curry, and Thai Hommali Rice, as well as Thai desserts, namely, sweetened cassava with coconut cream, rice balls in coconut milk (Bua Loy), and grass jelly in syrup (Chao Guay). In addition, the Embassy also showcased several Thai products, namely, Thai Hommali Rice, energy drinks, chilli sauce, canned coconut cream and curry paste, as well as Public Relation Booth, promoting Thailand's tourism and Thai boxing. At the event, the Federation Ivoirienne de Muaythai et Disciplines Assimilees (FIMDA) also performed a Thai boxing demonstration and Wai Kru ritual performance, which is a well-known sport recognized by the Ivorian people, aiming to further promote Thai Boxing to the public.
This event was organized to further promote Thailand, as well as present and expand Thainess among the peoples in the West African Region.
