On February 18, 2023, the Rugby League Federation Ghana hosted its 3rd annual Love Tag event with a visit to Epiphany Anglican Basic School.
This year's event dubbed Pad A Girl, organised in partnership with Total Woman Network was to educate the students on menstrual hygiene, donate sanitary pads and introduce them to the sport of rugby league.
According to Edna Quartey, founder of Total Woman Network, the event would have a positive impact on the children and adults who participated, as it would help improve their knowledge and demystify their fears about menstrual health and hygiene.
The assistant headmistress of Epiphany Basic School, Madam Paulina Adzim, expressed her gratitude for the donation and education provided at the event. She also stated that the donation came at the right time as many female students complain of not having enough education and resources to manage their menstrual cycle.
The Brands Manager of the Rugby League Federation Ghana, Selorm Kuwornu, also expressed his happiness with the success of the Pad A Girl initiative. He emphasized that the event was an opportunity for the Federation to give back to the community and introduce rugby league to the basic school, as approved by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
He also extended his gratitude to the Total Woman Network, MyHealthCop, Mays Crystal, Broni Travels, VN Luxe Kids Event and all the individuals who donated to the 2023 Pad A Girl initiative.
