The tour, which ended yesterday, offered opportunity to the President to commission some completed projects and inspect ongoing ones.

Rounding up the tour, he inspected the 10-kilometer Santasi to Apire-Heman Road, being executed by Kofi Job Construction.

Interestingly, Kofi Job had displayed almost all his equipment and vehicles at the site to give indication he had always been working at the site.

But, the President was not enthused about that and told him that could create a different impression in the minds of the people.

Earlier, the contractor has revealed that works on the said stretch would only resume when the rains receded, following complaints that he has abandoned the work.

But, Mr  Kwabena Owusu Adoumi,a former Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, who is the consultant, said that the delay was as a result of lack of funds. 

He was of the view that if the contractor was  even given GH¢10,000.00 a month, there would have been much progress on the project.

At Trede, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, he inspected the ongoing Agenda 111 hospital proejct.

The President also inspected the 30km Anwia-Nkwanta to Obuasi road, which was about 70 per cent completed, and capped it with the inspection of the Trauma and Accident Hospital in Obuasi, which also falls under the Agenda 111 project. 

The President, the previous day, had commissioned a maize processing factory under the one district one factory initiative at Nsuta, in the Sekyere Central District, where he also inspected an ongoing Agenda 111 hospital project.

At the Kumasi Central Business District, the traders received assurances from President that he would complete the project’s second phase of Kejetia Redevelopment indicating that that project would be finished in February 2024 and given to local traders.

“I am grateful to you all for supporting my bid to become president, you brought me to power and so anything affecting you is my concern.

“I have directed the contractor to expedite work on the project and I can assure you of swift execution of the facility” he told the traders.

On May 2, 2019, sod was cut to officially kick off the project’s second phase, which was scheduled to last 48 months.

Although the €248 million facility would miss the initial date, President Akufo-Addo promised that the keys would be passed over by February 2024.

There had been the commissioning of Toase Magistrate Court at Toase.
