The Director for Monitoring and Evaluation, National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programmes (NEIP), Joseph Kumah Mackay, on Friday donated 780 s mathematical sets to the Sene West Education Directorate at Kwame – Danso in the Bono East region.
The items were later distributed to all the 777 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the area sitting for this year’s exams.
Presenting the items, the Assembly Member of Nana Santo Electoral Area, Benjamin Berko, on behalf of Mr Mackay, said the move was geared towards supporting the students to perform in this year’s BECE.
He indicated that the donation would also reduce the financial burden of most parents in the district, especially widows, who were predominantly unemployed.
Mr Berko urged the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Sene West District to uplift its supervisory role in the various schools in order to raise the performance of students in the area.
Mr Berko entreated the BECE candidates to study hard in order to be able to put up their best performances, saying, “you can make us proud this year”.
He cautioned students, teachers and invigilators in the area against all forms of examination malpractices, adding that if you learn well you will pass.
Mr Richard Boateng, the Sene West District Director of GES, who received the items, thanked Mr Kumah for donating towards the progress of education in the area, saying, “Posterity will remember your kind gestures”.
