Mr Dika took home a tricycle, a pair of wellington boots, cutlasses, one knapsack sprayer, food items and a certificate of honour.
Mr Daniel K. Dziwudzo, the first runner-up also took home a pair of wellington boots, cutlasses, one knapsack sprayer, food items and one table top refrigerator and a certificate of honour.
The other farmers who received awards in the various categories in the District included; Torgbe Anorba Sasraku (IV) Second runner-up, Mr Emmanuel Bokor, District best crop farmer, Mad Becky Kumah, District Best Livestock farmer, Mr Saviour K. Azameti, District Best Physically challenged farmer.
The rest are; Mr. Fortune Fiagborlo, District Best Youth Farmer, Mad. Vida Ametefe, District Best Woman Farmer, Miyingor Farming and Processing Group, District Best Farmer Based Organisation (FBO), Mr Elvis Mensah Asafo, District Best Agricultural Extension Agent (worker), Adadekope D/A Primary school, District Best Institution involve in Agriculture
They received items including; table top refrigerators, pairs of wellington boots, cutlasses, knapsack sprayer, food items and certificates.
The celebration was on the theme, “Planting for Food and Jobs-Consolidating Food Systems in Ghana '' and it attracted many chiefs, school children, Civil and public workers.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Dika urged all youths to take advantage of the government's planting for food and jobs to venture into agriculture since it has become a lucrative venture to invest in.
“ I have benefitted from planting for food and jobs and I will say it has helped me a lot, let us all take advantage of it and invest in agriculture,” he said.
The ordained pastor added that Chiefs and Traditional leaders should try to make land leasing terms favourably so that everyone can engage in farming.
Mr Ruben Adase, Central Tongu District Director of Ministry of Food and Agriculture, congratulated the farmers for their achievement adding that "there has been a lot of challenges this year, the rains were not consistent and there was a shortage of granular fertilisers though not only in Central Tongu but the farmers have been able to do their best.
He promised that measures are in place to address all the problems faced by farmers in the District.
