Ghana’s most innovative telecommunications company, AirtelTigo, on Thursday, 5th August 2021 presented an amount of GHs10,000, assorted drinks and branded souvenirs to the Paramount Queen Mother of the Ga state, Naa Dedei Omardro III in support of the 2021 Homowo festival.
Donating the items at the Ga Manye palace were delegates from AirtelTigo led by the Ag. Director for Regulatory, Mrs. Cynthia Degbor Akafia.
She said, “AirtelTigo recognizes the significance of culture in the lives of Ghanaians; therefore, AirtelTigo is proud to support the Homowo festival as a way of projecting Ghana's rich cultural heritage”.
She used the opportunity to assure the queen mothers and elders gathered, that AirtelTigo is here to stay, and Ghanaians should expect more innovative and engaging initiatives from the Company.
Naa Adoley Owama I on behalf of the Paramount Queen Mother of the Ga state, Naa Dedei Omardro III, commended AirtelTigo for the kind gesture and said the donation would go a long way to support the activities planned for this year’s Homowo celebrations. The Ga Mashie Homowo Festival kick-starts on Friday, 13th August 2021 with the Twins Yam celebration followed by the sprinkling of the traditional food, kpokpoi on Saturday, 14th August 2021.
