Non-profit group Souljourn Yoga [1], dedicated to raising awareness and funds for girls’ education through yoga retreats, will host its first and only retreat of 2021 in Morocco. From October 21 through October 26, 2021, travelers will have a chance to experience the entrancing city of Marrakech and its neighboring Atlas Mountains during their Morocco Art and Yoga Adventure Retreat [2] while also providing the opportunity to give back to their
sister non-profit, Education For All (EFA) [3]. Included in the signup is a $300 tax deductible donation that goes directly to EFA.
Activities offered throughout the trip will range from a variety of local experiences with highlights to include:
* Daily Yoga Practice: Understanding the belief that it is important to provide a platform for yoga to universally inspire kaivalya (liberty) to connect people across spaces, each day will begin with an empowering group yoga session led by SoulJourn Yoga founder, Jordan Ashley.
* Historic Locations: Travelers will be immersed in the historic Medina of Marrakech, a vibrant morning-to-night marketplace, while staying at Riad Zam Zam. The group will travel to the stunning Atlas Mountains where the adventure will continue at Kasbah du Toubkal, a rustic guesthouse with panoramic mountain views and beautiful hiking opportunities.
* Absorbing The Culture: The incredible Moroccan culture will be experienced firsthand while strolling through local art galleries, led by curator and gallerist Jenn Ellis, bartering in the souks for traditional goods (hand woven textiles, silver jewelry, perfume oils, dried fruits, kohl, etc), taking a moment to replenish in the traditional and tranquil hammam and finishing the day with delicious Berber meals.
* Connecting With Locals: Spend the day meeting and connecting with the girls that will be supported by this trip and EFA. Located high in the Atlas Mountains, this time will be spent with these incredible young women learning about their lives and their studies.
