In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling that Cargill and Nestle couldn’t be held responsible through the Alien Tort Act for financing farms engaged in child slave labor, Mighty Earth West African Representative Sam Mawutor shared the following reaction:
“The US Supreme Court may be okay with Cargill and Nestle’s cocoa having links to child slave labor, but it’s still not okay. The Court may be giving these companies a free pass, but their customers don’t have to.”
Mighty Earth had done a demonstration including a visual projection in advance of the Court’s hearing. High resolution photos available.
