The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) branch of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG), has urged African Governments to intensify their vaccination efforts to contain COVID-19.
A statement issued by GRASAG-GIMPA, copied to the Ghana News Agency, to mark Africa Day, said this year's Africa Day, on the theme, "Arts, Culture And Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want," was been marked in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had affected the economies of many African countries.
"We also appeal to Africans to continue to abide by the COVID-19 protocols, so that together we can eliminate this pandemic," it said.
"We call for the acceleration of the implementation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in order to speed-up the Continent's socioeconomic development agenda."
The statement wished all Africans a happy Africa Day.
It paid tribute to the found fathers of the African Union and its Predecessor, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) for their foresight and vision.
