Professor Ernest Ofori Asamoah, incoming President of the Regent University College, has reiterated that the overall goal of Universities was to generate knowledge, disseminate information and provide community service through teaching, research and socio-cultural engagements.

He explained that the University was achieving these goals through international partnership, research, development of relevant academic programmes and the implementation of technology in teaching and learning processes.

Prof. Asamoah stated at the 14th graduation ceremony of the college in Accra to celebrate students, who have successfully met the academic and extracurricular requirements for graduation.

The ceremony was on the theme: “The Future of Private Universities in Ghana.” It was organized under strict COVID-19 safety protocols.

He revealed that a peer-reviewed academic journal would be launched by the University early next year to provide a platform for scientists and academicians to promote and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of business, science and technology.

He said Regent University College has had some collaborations with Universities in Spain, North Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

Prof. Asamoah announced that new Programmes were submitted to the National Accreditation Board with the hope of starting it in the 2020/2021 academic year.

He encouraged the Graduating Class to take advantage of the special package that would be available to members interested in enrolling in the programmes.

He charged them to inculcate traits of hard work, humility, integrity and diligence, which he said: “made life a lot easier.”

The graduation ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Regents, University Council Members, Management, Faculty, Staff, representatives from affiliate institutions, corporate executives and student volunteers.

In total, 377 students graduated from the School of Business, Leadership and Legal Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Allied Science, Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School.
