The Boys and Girls Club of Dansoman has launched "OnceUponAStory" to help children during the Coronavirus pandemic. The campaign is a fundraiser for the Club, and it will feature celebrities, authors and other notable figures reading children's books.
With schools closed due to COVID19, the main goal of the "OnceUponAStory" is to help families find new ways to help their children cultivate a passion for reading.
"Reading aloud to children has clear cognitive benefits. It strengthens the part of the brain associated with visual imagery and story comprehension," said Albert Otho Dee, executive director of the Club.
The Boys and Girls Club of Dansoman will be partnering with UNESCO and Care International Ghana to give away books and neccessary resources that would help them develop their love for reading. The Club will be observing strict safety precautions.
