Ghana's confirmed COVID-19 cases have risen by 498 cases to total of 10,856, the Ghana Health Service announced Friday in its daily update on its designated portal to the pandemic.
The new infections were confirmed in seven regions: Greater Accra -149; Ashanti-106; Western – 96; Upper East - 86; Volta – 50; Eastern- Six; and Western North - Five.
The latest update also saw a 97 rise in recoveries, thus lifting the total to 3,921.
The death toll, however, remains at 48, while the active cases now at 6,887.
The Greater Accra Region remains the hotspot of the pandemic in the country, having more than 60 per cent of the confirmed cases, with a tally of 6,791.
The Ashanti, Western and Central regions follow with 1, 905; 874; and 539 cases respectively.
