Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwa, the Bodi District Chief Executive, has presented foodstuffs to the leadership of the Market Women Association in the area to help cushion them against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The items comprise 50 bags of rice, 20 boxes of cooking oil and 10 boxes of sardine.
Mr Amankwa, also the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the area, urged the women to continue to adhere to the social distancing directives, wearing of nose masks and regular washing of hands with soap under running water.
"As DCE, I will not deny you any legitimate financial support that will be rolled out by the President of the Republic of Ghana to support small scale businesses to survive in these hard times," he said.
The leadership of the Association promised to distribute the items fairly among the members and cooperate with the District Assembly in all its endeavours.
The Assembly decongested the Bodi Market last Saturday to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
