"I urge you to report to the police any such persons soliciting payments in my name.

"I have notified the National Security apparatus to investigate and apprehend such fraudsters," the Information Minister said in a tweet.

The Minister said he did not solicit for nor provide any protocol opportunities to people either in person or via social media.

The Minister issued the statement following reports that a good number of people are falling victim to activities of fraudsters on the social media using his name.
