Mr Benjamin Komla Kpodo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, has challenged community associations and unions to help in the fight against the COVID-19.
"I implore all the Community/Town Development/Youth Associations and Unions in the Constituency to support their home communities with supplies of PPE to assist in the fight against the Coronavirus (Covid 19)," he said.
The MP urged them and philanthropic individuals to demonstrate Christ-like love by extending a helping hand to people, especially the poor and vulnerable during these difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Kpodo, in his Easter message, indicated that the resurrection of Christ had given mankind hope to overcome challenges that might entangle him.
He urged the citizenry to strictly adhere to the directives by the Government and health authorities to protect themselves against contracting the virus and limit its spread.
He asked Christians to "cling to the old rugged cross in these difficult times of the novel coronavirus so that the resurrection power of Christ will vanquish the destructive power of the pandemic and set them free."
Mr Kpodo said Jesus Christ has risen from the dead to demonstrate and confirm His power over death and all evil adding that that victory and its effects are what believers can appropriate to themselves.
The MP said it was out of great love for man that Christ laid down His life on the cross to grant him salvation, thus the need for man to show love to one another.
