Uber Technologies, Incorporated, has released its Fourth Annual Lost & Found Index.
The annual Uber Lost & Found Index provides a snapshot of both riders' most commonly forgotten items and most unique lost items.
The index also highlights which cities are most forgetful, which times of day and days of the week that riders forget items most, as well as tips on how to acquire ones lost items using the Uber app.
Like 2019, phones, wallets, keys and headphones once again topped the list of most commonly forgotten items, with bags, clothing, glasses and laptops following suit.
In Ghana, the 2020 Uber lost and found index indicated that among the top ten items riders left include; Phone, camera, Headphones, speaker, Keys, Backpack, bag, folders, box, luggage and Wallet / purse.
Others are; Clothing, Glasses, Water bottle / bottle / thermos, Phone charger and Laptop.
According to the index, electric stabilizer, blender, University of Ghana degree certificate, perfume, piano keyboard, electric fan, steel rod, box of cigars, alcohol and guitar, are among the 20 most unique lost items.
In addition, most unique lost items included butt lifter, TV, tool box, guinea pig, boundary map, piece/ wig, toothbrush, Bible, baby stroller and TV plug.
Accra and Kumasi were recorded as most “forgetful” cities.
The 2020 index noted that Uber riders are most forgetful on Thursdays, Fridays and late at night. Furthermore, it was revealed that, people are most forgetful at 3pm, 5pm and 6pm due to the rush to get home during those hours of the day.
Adding on, 25th of May (Africa Day) was said to be one of the most forgetful days of the year since it is a public holiday celebrated by Africans all around the continent.
The index revealed that lost items such as watches are most likely to peak on Mondays and Fridays. Also, people are most likely to forget their groceries on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
On Wednesdays, people are most likely to forget water bottle/ thermos. However, phone charger and books are most likely forgotten on Thursdays and Sundays respectively.
To retrieve a lost item, riders are entreated to call the driver.
On the other hand, a rider must login to his or her account on a computer when he or she leaves phone in an Uber.
