Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, has been adjudged the Best Performing Minister, 2018.
He was described as an "Epitome of effective and positive leader" and the "Most disciplined Minister" who spearheaded developmental projects in the Volta Region.
The honour was by the Confederation of Governance Assessment Institute (COGAI) in collaboration with Bureau of Research on Governance and Economic Monitoring Cooperation of Africa.
Mr Isaac Rockson, the Communication and International Relations Officer, COGAI, said the Institute considered human relations, tolerance, discipline, and development projects among other things in conferring the award on Dr Letsa.
He said from research conducted by the Institute, Dr Letsa's intuition to understanding human relations was deep, uncontestable and indescribable, which distinguished him from his contemporaries.
Mr Rockson said Dr Letsa's ability to work with all manner of people was inspiring and worth emulating.
He said COGAI started the award scheme in 2007 and had been celebrating ministers and parliamentarians who performed creditably in their ministries and constituencies.
Mr Rockson said the award was to ensure that "governance takes its proper shape and give results to the people."
He said it was also to ensure that Africa gained a headway in promoting good governance, the rule of law and democracy for accelerated socioeconomic development.
Dr Letsa expressed gratitude for the honour and said it was only through hard work and determination that the Region's quest to achieving accelerated socioeconomic development could be realised.
He dedicated the award to the people in the Volta Region and called for concerted efforts for rapid growth.
