A group of Dormaa citizens within and outside Ghana have presented medical equipment valued at GHC700, 000.00 to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital to enhance quality health service delivery.
The items included hospital beds and mattress, patient trolley, four dialysis machines, surgical gloves, pillow cases, bed spreads/blankets, surgical gown, patient gown, assorted children clothes, sterile gauze and vagina speculum.
Mr Samuel Adjenim-Boateng, an Elder of the Church of Pentecost at New Tafo, Kumasi, who made the presentation on behalf of the group on Friday at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region, said the donation was part of their diverse contributions towards improving quality and efficient health care services in the area.
He said they were motivated to present the items, particularly the dialysis machines to the Hospital to address the lack of such equipment at the facility, adding that their procurement was made possible through the financial contributions of some well-meaning citizens of Dormaa Traditional Area.
The contributors comprised among others one Brigadier-General Oppong-Peprah, Reverend Dr. Kwaku Agyemang and members of the Faith Foundation Church at Belgium, one Maame Afreba and himself, Mr. Adjenim-Boateng indicated.
Receiving the items, Mr Isaac Appiah, the General Manager of the Hospital commended the group for the donation, and gave the assurance that they would be used for their intended purpose whilst taking proper care of them.
