The chiefs and people of Adjena in the Asuogyaman District, have appealed to the government to move quickly to tackle bad roads and the lack of potable water in the town. Nana Ayimedu Brempong III, the Krontihene, also complained about inadequate classrooms and students residential accommodation at the Adjena Senior High School (SHS).
Speaking during a courtesy call on him by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Samuel Kwame Agyekum, he asked that everything was done to give the town its fair share of development.
He said their expectation was that the DCE would do more to bring progress to the people.
Mr. Agyekum called for the people to ensure that they lived in peace and said without that, there could not be meaningful progress. He assured them of his unswerving commitment to work hard to speed up the development of the district.
He said he would go the extra mile to woo investors to put their money in the area to create jobs and wealth for the people. The District Social Welfare Officer, Ms. Salomey Asamoah Danquah, highlighted the need for all to work together to stop human and child trafficking, especially in fishing communities along the Volta Lake.
