These included 3,000 half-pieces of wax print, bales of used clothing, bags of maize, wheelchairs, clutches, white canes, bathroom sandals, boxes of soap and toilet roll.     A total of 2,191 persons with disability, widows, orphans and the poor, in three regions – Eastern, Greater Accra and Western, benefitted.

The institutions were the Atibie, Koforidua and Winneba Nursing and Midwifery Schools, Akyem Oda Community Health Nursing College, Nsawam Prisons, Koforidua School for the Deaf, Agona Swedru, My Good Shepherd, Sadams and Osenese Orphanages.

The charity show, the 18th to be organized by the church, was under the theme “Unless the church fulfills its evangelical and charity mission, it has no reason to exist”. Apostle Oko Agyemang, the Deputy General Overseer and Director of Evangelism, said this was in conformity with a biblical injunction.

 The church, he indicated, was enjoined to show love and to give support to the sick, the poor, orphans, widows and the needy.  He gave the assurance that it would continue to be associated with the effort at providing for both the spiritual and physical needs of the people.

Madam Mercy Adu Gyamfi, Member of Parliament for Akwatia, applauded the church for what she labeled as a wonderful gesture. Mr. Joseph Kwasi Yirenkyi, Presiding Member of the West Akyem Municipal Assembly, urged other churches to learn from the example.
