The Reverend Joshua Emmanuel Mensah, General Overseer of the Christ Resurrection Church-Ghana, has rallied Ghanaians to give strong support to the government in the implementation of its development programmes.
He indicated that its various policy initiatives and interventions to create jobs could only succeed when the all showed keen interest and committed themselves to their implementation.
Speaking to journalists after his induction in Kumasi, the Rev Mensah noted that, the ‘one district one factory’ policy was one intervention that could help roll back the high unemployment and transform the economy.
He blamed the disturbing surge in illegal mining (galamsey), which had led to the destruction of water bodies, forest and farmlands, to the lack of employment opportunities for the youth.
The Rev Mensah gave the assurance that the Christ Resurrection Church was fully in support of the government in its effort to create the opportunity for the youth to get decent jobs. He spoke against indiscipline and lawlessness and said this was a threat to the nation’s peace.
He pointed out that as a church it was eager to help ensure that there was peace and harmony in the society. It remained committed towards working closely with state to bring development to the people. The Rev Mensah praised the founding fathers of the church for the selflessness, sacrifices and the hard work.
He urged all in the church, especially the leaders, to be open accountable and transparent in everything they did.
