The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Gateway Sanctuary in Pokuase has organised free health screening for members of the church and the community to emphasise the need for good health for all.
“This is to add the other dimensions of human healing for our members and those of the Pokuase Community. You pray for the person spiritually but also provide physical healing to the people,” Pastor Andrew Darko Ameyaw, Pastor in-charge of the church said.
“The human being is a soul living in a body, and as medical health is very important, we need to provide for that aspect of the human body which is prone to ill health,” Pastor Ameyaw said.
He explained that this year’s health screening exercise is the third to be organised by the church which had become an annual event held on every farmers day.Medical personnel who are members of the church checked the blood sugar, blood pressure, malaria, eye screening, and body mass index of the people while those who were diagnosed with sicknesses were provided with medication.
Pastor Ameyaw said members found with complications were usually referred to hospitals for thorough medical examinations. He said the church also planned to establish a clinic and a community library to reach out to the people with the gospel through the services they would provide.
He advised the people to take the health screening exercise seriously and also take advantage of it to know their health status to enable them live long to serve the Lord and the nation.
