The Director-General in charge of Human Resource Development of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Commissioner of Police Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, has said no police personnel would be promoted without training to equip him or her to perform in the new rank.
He said the Police Administration had put in place training programmes to retain its personnel.
Mr Mahama said this at the close of a promotion course for 165 sergeants who are due for promotion to the rank of inspectors at the Central Regional Police Training School, Winneba.
He said the course was in line with the Police Administration’s five-year Strategic National Policing Plan that makes training a priority.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Asiedu Okanta, the Commanding Officer of the Training School, expressed his gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and all Management and Advisory Board members for introducing the course and the commitment to sustain it.
