Efforts at promoting computer literacy among school children in the Ejura-Sekyedomase District has been given a boost with the inauguration of a GH¢5,000.00 computer laboratory at the Dromankuma Anglican Basic School.
It would also serve children of the Boyong D/A Primary School.
Seven out of the nine computers and printer at the laboratory were donated by Nana Kwame Baafi Boateng and Mrs Georgina Boateng, a Ghanaian
couple based in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Right Rev Dr Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Diocesan Bishop of Kumasi, performing the inaugural ceremony, urged the children to take
advantage of it to build skills in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
This, he said, was necessary to make them competitive in "today's world' which has become a global village.
The Rt Rev Sarfo praised the couple and said they were promoting education in the area.
Nana Boateng, a Pharmacist, said it was important children especially those in the rural areas were exposed to ICT and the establishment of the laboratory would help the pupils be computer literate.
Nana Boateng pledged to supply more books to stock the school's library.
