The Eastern Regional Branch of the Federation of Muslim Women of Ghana has presented items worth 2 million cedis to three institutions in the Akuapem South and Suhum -Kraboa-Coaltar districts.
The items that included second hand clothes, fruits and detergents were given to the patients of the Orthopaedic Training Centre at Adoagyiri, inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison at Nsawam and Suhum Girls High School at Suhum.
Hajia Mama Musah, the Eastern Regional President of the Federation, said it was part of the federation's programme to assist the needy and appealed to Muslims to assist those in need.
Mrs Justina Opeku, the senior House Mistress of the Centre who received the items, expressed appreciation for the gift.
Mrs Opeku said patients at the centre were amputees through accidents, polio and congenital deformities.
