Dr A. Dzordorgbe, Medical Superintendent of the Agona Swedru Government Hospital, has appealed to the Agona West Municipal Assembly to urgently ensure the collection of refuse in the Municipality to help reduce malarial cases.
The Assembly should work with the Zoomlion Company to undertake the exercise and prioritize environmental cleanliness in view of the June
floods.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, (GNA) in an interview at Agona Swedru, Dr Dzordorgbe appealed to the assembly to spray areas affected by the floods and ensure regular collection of refuse.
Swedru is already a malaria endemic area and it will be prudent for the assembly and other related agencies to take steps to stop the increase of malarial cases in the town.

He said the Assembly had also intensified education on the dangers of environmental pollution and indiscriminate littering.
Mr Essilfie stated that his outfit and Zoomlion Company were working seriously to keep the towns clean despite the collapse of the two main bridges on River Akora, which had divided the town.
