A thirty seven year old female farmer, Adwoa Darkwa, has been remanded in police custody by the Kade District Magistrates Court for assaulting a trader, Ms Felicia Anokyewaa.
Darkwa pleaded guilty with explanation and will re-appear on July 30.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Francis Cobbina said the complainant was a younger sister of one Kwadwo Koranteng whose little child lost the mother and therefore was living with the complainant and her aged mother.
On July 13, this year, at about 10.30pm the little child fought with another child and the complainant slightly beat the buttocks of the child in their care.
The action angered Koranteng, the father of the child, who threatened to beat the sister, so she left Adankrono for nearby Kade to report the
threat to the police.
On her way back home, she met the accused hurling insults and casting insinuation at her as the complainant was approaching from a distance from the house.
Not knowing who the target of the accused was, she passed by her and got home only to find her 70 year old mother weeping.
When Ms Anokyewaa asked her mother why she was weeping, the mother replied that, during her absence the accused went to the house to abuse them over what she termed an attack on her grandchild by the child in their care.
On receipt of the information, complainant went to the accused to find out why the insults on her and her mother and that resulted in hot exchanges between the two.
After they had been separated, the accused not satisfied, went home to put on knickers and full of rage and ready to fight rushed to the
complainants house to pour more insults on her and the old lady.
She then pounced on the complainant, assaulted her and pulled her hair, leaving some bruises on her face.
A report was lodged with the police and accused was arrested.
