Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, flagbearer
aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed condolences to the families of last Sunday's flood victims.
"I deeply sympathise with the thousands of people displaced and the families of the many who have died as a result of the floods. The situation
is quite pathetic and very sorrowful," he added.
A statement issued by Ms Adwoa Gyasiwaa Agyeman, Press Aide to Mr Kyerematen expressed appreciation to the bystanders, youth and other public- spirited individuals who assisted to push vehicles, rescued trapped passengers and helped in salvaging their property.
Mr Kyerematen made this known during his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, where he is meeting with opinion leaders, chiefs and NPP delegates and asking them to vote for a candidate who would prioritise and deliver development issues effectively.
He prayed that government would be proactive in stemming future flood-related disasters.
Mr Kyerematen said he was not happy about the lost of property and livelihoods and urged government to take bold developmental decisions about managing and maintaining built environments.
